Hi, I'm Rosebelle (rows-bell) and I am an ecologist. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the Prior Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University, State University of New York.
My passion for learning and curiosity about how a changing world impacts species interactions motivates my research and conservation efforts.
I graduated from Humboldt State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Management and a minor in Watershed Management. During this journey, I was an undergraduate researcher in Costa Rica, an intern with the Army Natural Resources Program on Oahu, Hawaii, and produced a management plan for a small park in partnership with the California State Parks.
Growing up in the Ilocos province of the Philippines, far-removed from modern technology at the time, playing outside was part of everyday life and is one of my favorite childhood memories. Though it wasn't until my family immigrated to Hawaii that I truly felt a deep connection with the natural world. Through hiking, I realized my desire
to protect and conserve natural areas on the island, and beyond, for future generations.
When I am away from the office or my computer, you can find me strolling through the woods, singing and playing ukulele, cheering on FC Barcelona, or spending time with family and friends.
I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and privileged to know, work with, and learn from organisms, individuals, and groups from different walks of life.
